No longevity - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By KC - January 21 - 11:26 pmFor the first 70,000 miles the vehicle ran perfect with no problems. Just as the warrenty ended, the transmission went out $3,500. Then shortly after that the ac went out $1,200 and has been troublesome since. The interior quality is great and tasteful. I am currently at 100,000 miles and have not replaced the brakes yet. Overall a solid vehicle still tight after 100,000 miles of semi aggressive driving. Great handeling for a little wagon and acceleration is adequate without the turbo. I was told by a dealership that the transmission problems are normal for Chrysler. I am afraid to hit 140,000 to replace the trans again. Poor trade-in value. Pay it up quickly and trade before 70,000 miles

True Love! - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By jascott - January 21 - 2:00 amI havent loved a car this much since I got my first one at age 16 (Im 40 now.) GT is the way to go if you want a PT. It is fast and fun! Ive had mine more than a year now and I still love it. Build quality has been terrific. Loved Chryslers PT "Block Party" in Pomona this year too! Daimler has done good things for this legendary US automaker!

Hobby - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By Patriot Blue GT - December 15 - 10:00 amNot only is the PT Cruiser GT a teriffic car it can also be your hobby. Numerous sippliers, including Chrysler, allows you to personalize your vehicle and inprove performance with add on parts. I can cruise....carry cement or an airconditioner or what ever and still be in style. This is the first car I can keep. First as a primary vehicle then as it ages as a secondary vehicle. Love the 70,000 mile power train warranty but dislike 90 day oil changes for the turbo. Oh well

Henrys Comments - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By hhoff - December 15 - 10:00 amIn 14,000 miles of city driving with an occasional long trip out of town, no problems with engine or drive train have been experienced. Other than routine maintenance, no additional expenses have realized. Although the car is easy and fun to drive, it is sometimes difficult keep ahead of the power curve with the four speed automatic transmissions shift points. The utility and flexibility of the vehicle is outstanding. The car is a fun car with exceptional styling combined with practical utility.

Fun to drive - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By jlucy - November 29 - 10:00 amI thought I was going to buy an SUV until I test drove the PT Cruiser Turbo. It is a blast to drive! The model that I bought happened to be loaded with options, and I am enjoying everyone of them. I love the solid, retro feel to the interior and the quick pickup on the road.

first 3 days with a GT Turbo - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By chas good - August 26 - 2:00 amDrove a 96 Acura Integra for 6 years. Was looking for something easier to get in and out of, fun to drive and 0 to 60 time of 8 seconds or less. Wanted a hackback or small wagon as they are so handy for hauling stuff. It was love at first site With the PT Crusier when it first came out. The turbo and better prices now sold me. Feels like its a 6 cyl under the hood when I press the go pedal. The GT ride is firm but not to firm. Very fun to drive. Got the leather quick order package that includes chrome 17" wheels. Reliablity is above average.

Fun, at first - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By jlem - August 20 - 2:00 amWas one of the first to buy, paying a premium in Oct. 2000. Loved it initially. Got 5-speed. Drove like a sports car. But had a series of minor problems, in and out of the shop. I hate to admit it, but its initial uniqueness has worn off and its just an ordinary car to me now.

Couldnt Be Happier - 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser
By ATown - August 15 - 10:00 amThe vehicle moves well, and handles well considering its size and weight. Its not a sports car, but its definately fun to be behind the wheel. The turbo has responsive straightline acceleration with or with out using the AutoStick. After accelerating from a stop, Ive been finding myself exceeding the speed limit by a good margin before I take notice of my speed. The interior design is tasteful enough to satisfy those that are interested in the car for its retro look, but still has an edgy 21st Century look to it. All in all, I have enjoyed the vehicle immensely, and have only a few gripes (see below).
